How To: Shareing a Post via Gmail

Overview: Embedding a post in a email involves 2 steps:
  1. Inserting the post "social thumb" image into the content area of your email, and
  2. Making the image a link to the post web page.
Detailed Steps:

  1. The URL for the social thumb can be found on the preview page of the post.  Navigate to the preview page and copy the "Post Image" URL:
  2. In gmail, start composing an email and choose insert photo: 
  3. Choose "Web Address (URL)", and paste the URL in the field and tab or choose the checkbox and the image should render in the space below the field then choose insert.
  4. Now go back to the preview page of the post and copy the "Link" URL:
  5. Return to gmail and select the image.  The easiest way to do this is to put the cursor just to the right of the image, hold down the shift key on the keyboard and press the left arrow once.  If you've done it correctly, the image will look like its entirely selected:
  6. Choose cmd-K on a Mac, cntl-K on a PC, and paste the post web page URL into the "to what URL should this link go?" field:
  7. Type the rest of your message and send!
